A WordPress specialist, not a theme installer
I build WordPress properly, bespoke block themes rather than bloated page builders, and custom Gutenberg blocks that give you exactly the editing experience you need. I maintain a suite of my own WordPress plugins (SEO, caching, image optimisation and more), so I know the platform inside out.
The result is a site that’s fast, secure, easy to edit and genuinely tailored, without the plugin sprawl that slows most WordPress sites down.
Make WordPress work for the people publishing
The editing experience matters as much as the public page. I build around the content your team actually publishes, with reusable blocks, clear settings and checks that cover drafts, previews and the live site.
Blocks that fit the content
Give editors useful controls and dependable previews, with enough structure to keep shared layouts consistent.
Shared functionality across sites
Keep common behaviour in a maintained plugin, while preserving the branding and settings that belong to each site.
Migrations with fewer surprises
Check drafts, media, internal links and redirects as well as the published pages everybody remembers to review.

Discuss your projectFrequently asked questions
Do you use page builders like Elementor?
No. I build bespoke block themes on the native WordPress editor for speed and maintainability, with custom blocks where you need them.
Can you build a WooCommerce shop?
Yes, WooCommerce is a core service, from small catalogues to large, integrated stores. See the ecommerce page for detail.
Can you speed up my existing WordPress site?
Yes. Performance audits and optimisation (caching, images, Core Web Vitals) are a common piece of work, on new and existing sites.
Will the new blocks work with existing content?
That is part of the scope and testing. I check representative existing pages and saved block content, and plan any migration or compatibility handling before changing the editing experience.

Decide which parts of a reusable layout should stay shared, which editors can change and how they request a wider update.

Make editor error messages useful
Distinguish loading, missing data and failed requests so editor warnings explain what happened and offer a useful next step.

A migration can look complete on the public site while unfinished articles still need attention. Here is how I check the editorial work as well.

WordPress after the build
A bespoke theme or plugin is only part of the job. I can pair the development with managed WordPress hosting, measured caching, updates and a recovery route, then agree what stays in a care plan.
