Give your information a useful shape.

I turn structured information into maps, charts, motion and interactive stories that people can understand and enjoy. The visual starts with a question, and every meaningful mark has a reason.

A visual that does a job

A council service map should help someone find a suitable place. A product comparison should make a decision easier. A campaign graphic should explain its evidence without making the audience decode a dashboard. I start with the audience and the question, then choose the right visual form.

That can be a plain chart with a careful scale, a tactile diagram, a layered SVG illustration or a small interactive world. I work across illustration, typography, animation and development, so the data rules and the finished design can be considered together.

Explore the Data Pulse Lab to try fictional examples. The recipe-driven burger changes ingredients, the council view filters accessible locations, and the infrastructure map connects a saved record to campaign artwork. These are working demonstrations, not customer results.

Choose the question, then the visual

The right format depends on what somebody needs to find, compare or understand.

  • Where can I go?

Maps with verified locations, opening hours and readable service information.

  • What changed?

Charts and motion with a consistent scale, meaningful period and visible source state.

  • How does this connect?

Infrastructure and content diagrams that make dependencies and ownership understandable.

What I design

Maps and service finders: geographic coverage, opening hours, availability and access information, with an ordinary readable alternative and clear handling for unconfirmed records.

Charts and explainers: comparable periods, visible units and annotations that explain what changed. Forecasts and what-if scenarios stay labelled as assumptions.

Motion and illustrated systems: independent SVG layers, Lottie sequences, WebGL effects and pixel worlds whose meaningful parts respond to defined fields. Decorative movement remains separate from the data.

Campaign and customer materials: product cards, availability displays, service diagrams and social assets generated from shared records, with reviewable snapshots for exported work.

Interfaces that connect the whole journey

I design command centres, publishing workspaces and customer interfaces as connected products. That includes source health, useful comparisons, placement rules and the visual response to a customer’s choices. The motion draws attention to a real change: a new chart point, a selected size, an unavailable feed or an approved record.

The fictional editorial command centre and placement studio show how these ideas work together. The data is invented, but the interactions are usable. I can help define the data contracts, design the UI and produce motion from the same approved system.

From the advert to the arrival

Shared records can drive a flyer, display advert, TV graphic and spot storyboard, then carry through to booking information, event check-in and infrastructure planning. Each output has its own composition and motion, with approved facts kept consistent.

Try the campaign output studio, event operations view and ESPN sports hub. The first two use fictional records; the sports view labels its fetched source and handles unavailable data.

From a rough dataset to a finished piece

We agree the audience, the decision and the sources before making the visual. I inspect a small representative sample, including missing values, long labels and outdated records, so the design has a sensible behaviour beyond the best-case mock-up.

The first deliverable is a visual direction and a working prototype. We review it at the real screen sizes and placements, then refine the typography, interaction, movement and accessible text. Reduced motion, deferred loading and offscreen pauses are part of the implementation.

The handover can include the approved artwork, reusable templates, animation rules, example data, export settings and a short guide to changing the content. Scope depends on whether you need one explainer or a maintained system.

If the records need collecting, cleaning or delivering, AceMedia Host handles the data and publishing side. Creative production and ongoing operations are scoped separately, with clear ownership.

A clear scope and handover

What you receive

  • An agreed brief and visual direction, with example records and data definitions.
  • A reviewed prototype with meaningful empty, stale and error states.
  • Responsive artwork, animation or export templates, plus an agreed handover.

Useful things to send me

Send the question you want to explain, the intended audience, a representative data sample and examples of where the work will appear. Please leave personal records and credentials out of the initial enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work from a spreadsheet?

Yes. A spreadsheet can be a useful starting point if fields, units, sources and update responsibilities are clear. I can help define the structure before building the design.

Will a chart prove the campaign worked?

No. A useful visual can explain evidence, but causation needs an appropriate evaluation. I help choose meaningful measures and preserve the limits of the data.

Can it use our existing brand?

Yes. I work with your typography, palette, illustration and tone, while checking that the design still communicates the data clearly.
